Mathematics develops computational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. The theory, discipline, and techniques taught in mathematics courses are especially important in today’s society. Our Faculty of Mathematics recognizes this and strives to ensure that the student learner obtains this knowledge. The Faculty also contributes to the discipline through fundamental research in pure and applied mathematics, statistics, and mathematics education.
The Department of Mathematics offers courses and programs of study that will ensure that the student learner is able to contribute to today’s society.
This BS program is directly affiliated with and approved by GCUF. It enables students to critically assess numerical and graphical information; learn to formulate strategies for solving problems; and acknowledge the importance of being intellectually curious throughout their adult lives.
The Department, through its Faculty, tries to contribute to the body of knowledge of the discipline, through traditional research, applied research, and research in the teaching of Mathematics. BS Mathematics at SHEC is tailored to gradually introduce the students to more advanced and specialized aspects of the field on the basis of core mathematical foundations.
Minimum Qualification: FSC Pre-Engineering /ICS with Mathematics/A Level or Equivalent Higher Secondary School Certificate in Basic Sciences/relevant subjects
Minimum Marks/CGPA: Minimum 45%
