SHEC boasts well-equipped and fully functional Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Zoology, Psychology and Computer labs which enable students to apply the theoretical knowledge and concepts learned in class.
To promote aspects of scientific thinking and the scientific method, and to understand the scientific world more clearly, practical work and hands-on learning is essential. This helps develop the required practical abilities, such as designing an experiment, recording data and analyzing and interpreting the results obtained.
Our Chemistry Lab has all the necessary equipment for preparation of samples and standards for various analyses of liquid and solid samples. It houses equipment including glassware, fume hoods, a muffle furnace, centrifuge, aggregate mill, and ovens. The practical learning environment at SHEC helps students develop and upscale their practical approach and scientific understanding.
A Physics lab aids a student in establishing the relevance of theory. Experimenting brings clarity to the minds of the students and builds strong foundations and understanding of basic concepts. SHEC has established a well-furnished and equipped Physics lab which fulfills all basic and advanced requirements of physics students and allows them to receive practical training and learning and test out the theories they learn in class.
Our Biology/Zoology lab is fully functional, fulfills all the instrumental requirements of students up to the BS level, and helps students understand theoretical concepts better. It also houses preserved specimens of various species.
Computer labs are instrumental in helping students learn, work with software programs, complete assignments, and learn how to communicate and interact in this digital age. Most importantly, IT labs enable learners to acquire digital skills critical in the modern workplace without having to purchase their own hardware and software. SHEC provides students with well-furnished computer labs with all the modern facilities and internet services to increase student online exposure and allow them to be in touch with the whole world. In these labs, they are taught all the basics and advanced computer skills. We also offer various short computer courses to students in order for them to further enhance their digital skills.
Psychology labs house facilities required for students to understand human behaviour and the human psyche in a practical way. They are equipped for the recording of behaviour and for the monitoring of mental and emotional states, and also have systematic control of environmental and individual factors which influence and determine human mental and emotional states. Lab courses give students experience conducting research, designing experiments, learning observation and measurement techniques, and analyzing behavioral data.
